Police said a man tried to leave the Foul Bay Road store with an item he had stashed in his bag, then assaulted a staff member who tried to question him
Victoria police are asking for the public’s help in locating a suspect in a theft and assault at a store in the 1900-block of Foul Bay Road.
Police received a report from the store just before 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 27 that a man had come in and put a piece of merchandise in his bag before bringing a second item to the till. He left the item there and tried to leave with the other item still in his bag, then assaulted a staff member who tried to question him.The suspect is described as white, about 38 and five-foot-10 with a slim build. He has short brown hair parted on the side, and was clean-shaven and wearing glasses with rectangular frames.
He was wearing a grey hoodie, dark pants and distinctive brown lace-up hiking boots, and was carrying a black, messenger-style bag.
