From online workshop participants to published authors, 12 students of Oscar Gutierrez Penaranda launched 'Bridges of Memory' — a compilation of poetry, short stories and memoirs — was launched at Sunshine Place.The work emerged from the Memoir Writing classes offered by Sunshine Place during the pandemic.Conducted via Zoom, the class initially signed up 10 students, exceeding the eight enrollees Oscar Penaranda had anticipated.
Len Fernandez read her poem 'The Witching Hour,' Rudy Fernandez shared 'Letter to the World,' and Mario Torrento, who traveled from Iloilo, presented 'Bridges.' Dada Trillo read 'Stolen Moments of Eternity,' while Vicky Lopez, based in San Francisco, joined via video to share 'The Wounded Sparrow.'The event featured a musical interlude with Luigi Lago, son of writer Melanie Lago, performing the Beatles' 'In My Life.
