Yulo ranked third in the men's floor exercise behind Israel's Artem Dolgopyat and the United States' Fred Richard in the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Antwerp, Belgium.Dolgopyat and Richard both already qualified in next year's Paris Olympics, resulting in Yulo qualifying for the quadrennial event.Yulo's qualification was also confirmed by the POC in a Facebook post.
"Yulo punches his ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics via a stellar performance at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Belgium," it said. "He proudly joins the elite ranks of Filipino athletes securing a Paris [berth] alongside the number 2 pole vaulter in the world, EJ Obiena," it added.
The 23-year-old Yulo skipped this year's Asian Games to try and book a ticket to next year's Olympics through the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships.
