PNP warns anew against ‘love scam’ | Image from Pixabay
THE Philippine National Police on Thursday, February 17, 2022, reiterated its warning against love scam victimizing mostly middle-aged individuals.
He said the scammers take advantage of the person’s vulnerability by making him or her fall in love with them in order to gain trust and later ask them for money. Rodriguez said the scammers, mostly Nigerian nationals with Filipino cohorts, use social media to look for their target, get to know them and fool them.“Magpapakilala kasi sila sa mga biktima nila na sila ay taga abroad and then pupunta ng Pilipinas. Nung papunta na ng Pilipinas hindi makapunta sa Pilipinas because nagkaroon ng pera, then hihingi ng pera para tulong,” said Rodriguez.
