The Philippine National Police (PNP) has reactivated its pilot training courses to prepare more personnel to fly the air assets that the organization recently acquired.

PNP chief Gen. Archie Francisco Gamboa said 11 of their personnel have graduated from the revived Basic Helicopter Pilot Training for Special Action Force during a ceremony at the PNP-SAF Air Unit Hangar, General Aviation Area, Domestic Airport, Pasay City.

On the other hand, the first batch of those who graduated are composed of three policewomen and eight policemen. For his part, SAF director Maj. Gen. Amando Empiso said those who graduated are now part of the PNP corps of police aviators who will be in command of the PNP newly-acquired fleet of rotary wing aircraft.

The PNP has started buying helicopters purposely for the transport of their personnel and for other law enforcement actions.
