The Philippine National Police announced on Monday that it was investigating the use of a police uniform as a costume during a Christmas party.PNP Spokesperson Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo said authorities were determining how the individual obtained the uniform.“We will have to check how this person procured the set of uniform he wore. Should we file a case? I will leave that to the investigator handling the case,” Fajardo said during a press briefing.
Let us be aware that while this may have been intended for fun, it does not sit well with the PNP, considering that a PNP uniform was used,” she added.The individual, reportedly an executive of an automobile manufacturing company, wore the police uniform during a Christmas party.Fajardo reminded the public that the improper use of uniforms, insignia, or dress belonging to law enforcement was a punishable offense under Philippine law.
