CAMP GENERAL MIGUEL MALVAR, Batangas City — Personnel from various law enforcement agencies here continued to collaborate in relief efforts to help the residents recover from the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
For the first time in so many years, Batangas suffered considerably from wrath of nature, with widespread flooding in most of the province's municipalities and cities, and landslides burying tens of people in a community during the height of Kristine's onslaught.Col. Jacinto Malinao Jr.
The operations are being undertaken by personnel belonging to Batangas Philippine National Police , Philippine Marines, Bureau of Fire Protection, Philippine Coast Guard and other government agencies.On Oct. 29, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office reported that nearly the entire province of Batangas was affected by the severe tropical storm.According to data gathered by the PNP, about 9,490 families evacuated and are currently staying in evacuation centers.
