Philippine National Police chief Police General Rommel Francisco Marbil on Sunday warned that police officers who were engaged in misconduct and abuse would be penalized under the “zero-tolerance” policy.“We have no room for erring officers in our ranks. The PNP is fully dedicated to upholding the law and ensuring that every police officer adheres to the strictest code of conduct.
“We will not tolerate any form of misconduct within our ranks,”The PNP Chief also vowed “swift and stringent” punishments on police officers involved in misconduct under the PNP’s internal disciplinary mechanism.Citing the PNP Internal Affairs Service, Marbil revealed that charges were filed against 6,256 personnel from July 2022 to July 2024, with around 2,550 facing administrative penalties ranging from reprimand to dismissal.
