One area benefiting from the recent network expansion is Aloguinsan, where improved connectivity has supported tourism and small businesses. The municipality, known for its ecotourism, has seen a positive impact on local initiatives.“We continue to invest in enhancing our integrated fixed and wireless networks across the country to keep families connected, enable livelihoods, and boost the government’s digitalization drive,” said Roderick S. Santiago, PLDT and Smart’s Deputy Network Head.
Rudney Carcuevas, President of the Bojo Aloguinsan Ecotourism Association , a longtime partner of Smart, highlighted the benefits of better connectivity. “We used to hike to higher ground for signal. Now, managing bookings is easier, and mobile payments are accessible,” Carcuevas said.
