An Aussie mum has had a remarkable encounter with the ocean's gentle giants. 9News
Leanne Gordon was on the water with Cooly Tweed Cruises on Sunday when a "playful" humpback suddenly breached right next to the boat.
But the marvellous encounters didn't stop there; half a dozen curious marine mammals continued to approach the boat.The humpback whale breached right night to the boat, and Leanne Gordon manged to snap the moment. "The lady in the photo is a crew member and she had just moved to where she was and was very surprised."I was the only person lucky enough to capture the moment."The close encounters did not stop there, multiple whales made close passes next to the boat.Every year starting from around May, tens of thousands of humpback whales migrate up the east coast of Australia from the freezing waters of Antarctica.
