The real life Aussie “Cast Away' admitted he didn’t think he’d survive being stranded out in the Pacific Ocean as he set foot on dry land for the first time in three months.

Tim Shaddock said he is “grateful” to be alive as he disembarked with his dog Bella in the Mexican city of Manzanillo on early Wednesday morning .He admitted he didn’t think he’d make it through the months out in the ocean, receiving medical treatment on board the Maria Delia Tuna before facing reporters.“I'm just so grateful. I'm alive and I didn't really think I'd make it," Mr Shaddock said.

"I'm feeling alright. I'm feeling a lot better than I was, I tell ya,” he said, beaming behind his grown out beard. The Sydney man was all smiles as he disembarked the tuna boat that saved his life. Picture: Sky News Australia Mr Shaddock was attempting to reach French Polynesia in April when his boat was damaged in a storm and he was left adrift at sea.
