Filipinos on Tuesday commemorated the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution through different ceremonies and programs.At the People Power Monument in Quezon City, the National Historical Commission of the Philippines led the wreath-laying and flag-raising ceremonies at 8 a.m. More activities will be held at 9 a.m.NHCP senior history researcher Kristoffer Pasion said the Human Rights Violation Victims' Memorial Commission will conduct a program for the event.
“Madalas nakikita po natin 'yung mga wreath-laying, participation ng mga politiko pero nais naman namin dito sa National Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace 'yung faith component,” he said.“Dito sa National Shrine of Mary, Queen of Peace ang gagawin namin ngayon mga liturgical, sacramental activities katulad ng pagdiriwang ng Banal na Misa,” he added.According to him, the intervention of the Virgin Mary contributed to the peaceful revolution.
