Filipinos continue to support a dual approach of diplomacy and military action in asserting the country’s territorial rights in the West Philippine Sea, according to a survey conducted by the OCTA Research group.

Compared to last year, more Filipinos now support expanding naval patrols and troop presence in the region.The figure increased to 72 percent in December 2023 and 73 percent in March 2024. Alcos said two of the most modern platforms of the Navy took part in the sinking exercise, showing their precision strike capabilities using advanced missile systems.
Alcos said the missile strike was complemented by a variety of other naval and aerial assets participating in the simulated attack on the target ship, which highlighted the coordinated and multi-dimensional nature of modern naval warfare.
