Pinoy street food goes to New York

A street food vendor in San Carlos City, Pangasinan, is giving the Big Apple foodies a taste of the bursting flavors of authentic Pinoy street food through a food pop-up store which opened in New York City last August 3.

A report from Don Tagala of ABS-CBN News’ Balitang America said the small food business is the latest “Pinoy” signature pop-up craze to hit the streets of New York where foodies, even at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, would converge for a taste of authentic fishball, isaw , kikiam, balut , kwek-kwek, betamax , adidas , and more.

The delay had given the small business venture some advantages, like getting a good spot in New York, New York because not too many ventures were popping up due to the pandemic. In fact, the interview said that not a few Pinoy customers had praised the food of “So Sarap NYC” as “a taste like home.”
