MAYNILA — Lumagpas na sa 200,000 ang kabuuang bilang ng namamatay sa India dahil sa COVID-19, sa gitna ng tumitinding krisis sa naturang bansa dahil sa pagkalat ng virus.
"Sometimes people when they die, they don't have place to cremate, so they just put on the road and they just threw their tradition and they pray, they cut the trees, they just put that one and [set them on fire]. You know it's very worst," aniya.Nakausap pa niya ito noong magpositibo noong Abril 23, pero tatlong araw lang ang nakalipas, namatay na ito.
Ayon kay Philippine Ambassador to India Ramon Bagatsing, Jr., hindi pa maiuuwi sa Pilipinas ang mga labi ng 2 Pinoy. Naka-lockdown kasi ang India dahil sa surge at mananatili muna ang abo sa punerarya habang hindi pa nakukuha ng kaanak o employer.Naka-isolate naman ang ibang Pinoy na nagpositibo sa sakit.
