Toyota Motor Philippines Corporation made a powerful statement at the 2024 Philippine International Motor Show by launching its “Beyond Zero” initiative, a comprehensive approach aimed at achieving Carbon Neutrality while fostering a sustainable mobility ecosystem. This ambitious strategy reflects Toyota’s commitment to not only reducing emissions but also positively impacting society and the environment.
TMP Corporate Affairs Group’s first vice president, Josephine Villanueva, emphasized the necessity of a comprehensive roadmap for xEV adoption in the Philippines. She highlighted the importance of government support and robust charging infrastructure, advocating for the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act and a target of 50% xEV market penetration by 2040.
TMP president Masando Hashimoto closed his speech by stressing the need for collaboration among stakeholders, including government, private sector, and consumers, to realize the “Beyond Zero” vision. He called for united efforts to build a sustainable and prosperous future for the Philippines.
