New looks, Google tech, and a hybrid model

The new Honda Civic was first previewed at the One Honda Electrification event back in September. It was exciting to see it in the metal, but full specs and details weren’t shared at the time.

Fast forward to the Philippine International Motor Show, and Honda Cars Philippines can finally reveal everything about it. The brief? It has new looks, Google tech, and gains a hybrid variant.PIMS 2024: Chery PH launches facelifted Tiggo 2 Pro, Tiggo 5x ProThe Philippine-spec 2025 Honda Civic features much of the same updates as the one shown in Thailand a few months ago. There’s the new grille, a more pointed front bumper, and a new wheel design for the RS variant.

To our surprise, even the Philippine-spec Civic gains the built-in Google Assistant and other Google services from the Thai-market model. It also allows the owner to download apps from the Google Play Store.Other updates include a new display in the infotainment system, a few trim changes here and there, and increased system visibility for motorcycles and bicycles for the Collision Mitigation Braking System with Pedestrian Detection in Honda Sensing.

For the Philippine market, the new Honda Civic is available in three variants. It starts with the 1.5 V Turbo CVT, followed the 1.5 RS Turbo CVT. New to the range is the 2.0 RS e:HEV, marking the first time the Civic is offered with a full hybrid system in the country. Horsepower and torque figures remain the same for the turbo models. It’s still rated at 176hp and 240Nm in this case. As for the RS e:HEV, it bumps power up to 181hp and, more important, 315Nm of torque. With figures like that, we could see 0 to 100kph times in the low 7-second range.See Also Read Next PIMS 2024: V6-powered Ford Ranger Raptor now in PH priced at P2.739-M View other articles about:
