Adam Fraser has been able to continue on processing meat at his local butcher shop in Millbrook despite the lack of power caused by Fiona. If you were to drive out to Adam Fraser’s farm and butcher shop in Millbrook, Pictou County, last week you would have seen trees on the lines, and wires ribboned off but still dangling over the road. Piles of powerline lay in some sections.Adam Fraser, who took over the business from his father said they had already been planning to take the weekend of Sept.

“We’re booked ahead until Christmas pretty well. Every day you’ve got to get your stuff done,” he said. A couple of people had to cancel their appointments because their freezers had no power, but he said for the most part they’ve been able to continue with the pre-arranged schedule. Many people picking up the meat were putting it in freezers also powered by generators.

Central Nova MP Sean Fraser spoke of the struggles farmers are facing during a recent stop in Pictou.
