PHOENIX Super LPG is counting on versatile players as they seek a deep run in the playoffs in the Philippine Basketball Association Season 49 Governors’ Cup starting next month.
Six-foot-7 forward Kai Balunggay, the fourth overall pick in the PBA draft last Sunday, is expected to play a key role for the Fuel Masters.
“We were so surprised, and we were not expecting to get him . We thought he won’t be available at No. 2 or 3 but we still got him at fourth and that very fortunate for us,” Phoenix coach Jamike Jarin told BusinessMirror. With Best Import awardee Johnathan Williams, Phoenix made it to the Commissioner’s Cup semifinals where they lost to Magnolia in five games.
