The Philippines will benefit from the £25 Million Economic Integration Programme that the United Kingdom launched in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean), according to the Deputy Ambassador of British Embassy Manila.

White said the programs that will be developed for the Philippines under this Asean-UK partnership are “still in the pipeline.” However, he said “The bigger focus would be regulatory reform, financial services and open trade.” As to the goal of the funding poured by the UK into Asean, White said it is seen to address barriers to trade and spur economic development in the region.
According to the UK government’s website, the Asean-UK Economic Integration Programme which was launched in April 2024 in Jakarta is a four-year initiative, valued at up to £25 million.
