The initiative commenced with a two-day technical workshop in Quezon City on October 9 and 10, signaling the start of a multi-stage capacity-building roadmap. This is followed by a training in Korea where PhilSA engineers undergo a hands-on subsystem assembly and theoretical rocketry training using Perigee’s proven Blue Whale 0.1 sounding rocket platform — the same model that has previously demonstrated successful flights from Jeju, South Korea.Aligned with national priorities that emphasize transparency, measurable outcomes, and high impact innovation, the initial phase of the program delivers visible technical outputs while laying the groundwork for the future — envisioned to include localized assembly, testing, and operations in the Philippines.
