The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in the Philippines is preparing for the 2025 National and Local Elections and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections by reviewing the automated election system (AES) technology as mandated by law. The AES, called FASTrAC, consists of various components including election management, counting machines, canvassing systems, secure electronic transmission, and online voting. The Comelec is overseeing a source code review by local and international entities to ensure transparency and security.
