Philippines logs 284 new COVID19 cases; 41 new recoveries

MANILA — The Department of Health on Friday said there are now 8,772 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Philippines after it recorded 284 new patients.This brings the total number of recovered patients to 1,084 and the total number of fatalities to 576.

The number of new cases has remained within the range of 100 to more than 200 for the last several days. More than 3.2 million people have been infected with COVID-19 from 187 countries, according to the Johns Hopkins University coronavirus dashboard. However, more than 1 million people have already recovered and more than 230,000 have died.
