The Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) announced on Friday that it has earned its 12th consecutive ISO 9001 :2015 certification. This achievement demonstrates the organization's dedication to providing high-quality public services. IPOPHL Director-General Rowel Barba stated that the ISO certification signifies a longstanding dedication to excellence, which began in 2012 when IPOPHL first received ISO accreditation.

He emphasized that the ongoing efforts to enhance processes across all bureaus and offices are recognized not only through documented procedures but also through the tangible benefits experienced by the Filipino people and clients. The certification, issued by SOCOTEC Certification Philippines Inc., encompasses a wide range of IPOPHL's quality management processes related to its core functions, including granting patents, registering utility models, industrial designs, trademarks, and recording copyrighted works. IPOPHL achieved zero non-conformities and received seven commendations, including consistently high customer satisfaction, digitalization initiatives that improve efficiency and contribute to climate change mitigation, and the procurement of an Enterprise HRMIS system slated for integration in January 2025. Programs like the Bureau of Patents' Green Technology Incentive Program, which encourages sustainable designs and inventions, were also praised. The Bureau of Copyright and Related Rights (BCRR) and Bureau of Legal Affairs (BLA) received recognition for their strong process knowledge and maturity. IPOPHL's exemplary finance and cashiering processes were also acknowledged, earning the 2023 AGAP Outstanding Accounting Office and Outstanding eNGAS User Entity Awards. Plans for e-disbursement integration within the finance processes are set for next year
