HARBIN, China – Marc Pfister and partner Kathleen Dubberstein, both unranked, almost put the Philippines in the medal tally of 2025 ninth Asian Winter Games on Saturday at the mixed doubles curling battle for bronze competition on Saturday at the Harbin Pingfang District Arena here.

Pfister, who played for Switzerland’s national curling team before acquiring a Philippine passport, and the Dubberstein saw their lead wiped out on the sixth end with Han and Wang taking command, 6-4, entering the eighth and last end. Pfister will begin his campaign with the Philippine men’s squad on Sunday while Dubberstein joins the women’s team in competition on the same day.

“So proud of them, proud of their determination and skills. They just proved that Filipinos can battle on this stage,” Tolentino, who also watched the games and supported the 20-athlete delegation in this continental multi-sporting winter games, said.
