The Philippine government under President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. has called on developed countries to give additional funds for the mitigation of impact of climate change on underdeveloped countries, the Office of the Press Secretary said Thursday.
"The Philippines reiterates its call for climate justice – for developed countries to increase financing for mitigation, adaptation and loss and damage for developing countries," the OPS statement quoted Remulla as saying. Remulla pointed out that all countries must faithfully and urgently fulfill their international obligations on climate action.Meanwhile, on the issue about the safety of human rights defenders and journalists, Remulla dismissed the claims that the space for civic and media is shrinking in the country.
