, things aren’t slowing down over at Toyota Motor Philippines. Their next launch? The first-ever Yaris Cross.

Filed just last July 14, the first-ever Yaris Cross is confirmed to be packing a 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine. Since there’s no mention of “hybrid” in the paperwork, we can assume this could mean the 2NR-VE engine found in Yaris Cross models launched throughout the ASEAN region. Used also in the Vios, this double overhead cam dual VVT-i unit will help the Yaris Cross produce 106 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 138 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm.
