The Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) was awarded for its outstanding corporate governance practices, including transparency, sustainability reporting, and community engagement.

The Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) achieved several milestones and accolades in 2024, solidifying its position as a leading government-owned and controlled corporation (GOCC). At the 2023 Governance Commission for GOCCs (GCG) Awards Ceremony held in Pasay City, PRA was recognized for its exceptional corporate governance practices, ranking third among GOCCs with an outstanding score of 102.6 percent.

This marked the eighth consecutive year the agency received an excellent to outstanding Corporate Governance Score (CGS) rating.PRA's success was particularly noteworthy for its perfect scores in the Disclosure and Transparency category and its excellence in the Responsibilities of the Board section for the years 2021 to 2023. These achievements were celebrated by key officials, including General Manager and CEO Cesar Siador Jr., Director Anthony Peter Crisologo, Director Eligio Ildefonso, Assistant General Manager for Reclamation and Regulation Joseph John Literal, Board Secretary Mark Arthur Catabona, Corporate Planning Division Manager Ynna Margarita Yalong-Gelomina, Grace Ortaleza, and Jan Miguel Santos. The award highlights PRA's commitment to excellence, especially in sustainability reporting, as demonstrated by its adherence to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards, a widely recognized best practice for reporting on economic, environmental, and social impacts.Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin emphasized the crucial role of GOCCs in driving economic development and national progress during the awards ceremony. He stressed the importance of accountability and transparency as fundamental principles of effective governance in the public sector. PRA remains dedicated to environmental protection and sustainable development. To ensure the long-term stability and ecological integrity of reclaimed areas, the agency implements a comprehensive site maintenance program for ongoing projects, including regular site surveys, detailed inspections, and necessary corrective measures. Throughout 2024, PRA made significant progress in maintaining its key reclamation initiatives, particularly the 265-hectare Pasay Harbor City Reclamation Project and the 360-hectare Pasay Reclamation and Development Project.Beyond its regulatory responsibilities, PRA actively engages with local communities and partner organizations to promote sustainability and socioeconomic advancement. Through its five-year Social Development Management Program, PRA has been delivering sustained economic and social benefits to coastal communities in Cavite Province. Notable initiatives include training on modern fish handling techniques for Naic fish vendors, a Milkfish and Mudcrab Fishpond Management Program in Ternate, livelihood training programs on tilapia farming and aquaponics in Tanza, assistance for a sea turtle hatchery construction in Naic, shellfish and culture management training for Ternate fisherfolks, basic life support and first aid training for Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) members, and the provision of educational materials and school supplies to 9,735 students, particularly those affected by typhoons in Tanza.PRA has also forged partnerships to further its commitment to sustainability and national development. A collaboration with the City of Pasay resulted in the 'PRA-Pasay Bagong Buhay para sa Masa,' a livelihood project and incubation center specifically designed for vendors in the city. Similarly, PRA partnered with the city governments of Parañaque and Pasay, along with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, for the Bagong Baclaran Market Project, a multilevel market accommodating over 2,000 stalls, benefiting thousands of vendors and residents. Another significant partnership was with the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) to plan and implement a Growth and Opportunities Program aimed at reducing poverty in the country
