Players of the Philippine Men's National Football Team shared their pride on social media following the country's successful campaign in the recent 2024 ASEAN Championship (Mitsubishi Electric Cup). Forward Alex Monis highlighted the significance of the team's journey to the semifinals, expressing, 'This one will hurt for some time but there is so much to be proud of. Together we made history. But most importantly, football in the Philippines feels alive again.
' He also thanked the Filipino supporters for their unwavering encouragement. Goalkeeper Quincy Kameraad described the experience as one of the best, emphasizing the strong bond within the team. 'The brotherhood this group has built together is more than just a team, it’s a family,' he wrote. Kameraad expressed confidence in the team's future, stating, 'We’ll be back, stronger and ready to climb the hills faster.' Jarvey Gayoso reflected on his personal achievements this year, including winning a championship with Kaya FC, signing a contract abroad, and getting married soon. He also acknowledged the historic run of the national team, believing it signifies a resurgence of Philippine football. Bjorn Kristensen, who scored three goals for the team during the tournament, simply expressed his pride.
