“We are in close coordination with our Honorary Consul and local authorities in Louisiana to determine if any Filipino nationals have been affected by the attack. Fortunately, to date, there have been no reports of Filipinos injured as a result of this incident. The Consulate has also not yet received any requests for assistance from members of the Filipino community regarding this incident,' said the Houston Philippine Consulate General’s Assistance to Nationals Section in an email to GMA Integrated News.'We are continuously monitoring the situation for any updates and stand ready to assist Filipino nationals who may have been affected by the attack,” it added.More than 30 people were injured, some of whom are in critical condition at the hospital, after the suspect ran them over on a busy street in Bourbon Street early on New Year's Day.The suspect was killed by police after engaging them in a gunfight.
