Bong Go supported Senate President Francis Escudero's statement that the Senate is considering not including additional PhilHealth subsidies in next year's proposed P6.352-trillion budget.Go said that the agency must efficiently use its available funds before asking for additional subsidies in the 2025 General Appropriations Act.

However, the Department of Finance said that the use of PhilHealth's unused government subsidy was mandated under Republic Act 11975, adding that the use of dormant money belonging to a government-owned and controlled corporation was an efficient way to fund urgent government programs and projects such as the emergency allowances of health workers, salary increases and benefits of state employees, as well as key infrastructure projects.
