The Philippines immediately plunged into action on Thursday, Aug. 29, in the 2024 Paris Paralympics in France.
Para archer Agustina Bantiloc is battling in the women's individual compound open at press time along with 27 others that include world record holder Phoebe Paterson Pine of Great Britain.
Meanwhile, three-time Paralympian Jerrold Mangliwan opens his bid in wheelchair racing on Friday, Aug. 30, in the men’s 400m T52 heats, while Gawilan, who is also in his third Paralympics stint, competes on Saturday, August 31, in the men’s 200-meter individual medley SM7 heats. Technically, this is the second time that Ganapin qualified to the Games but he was unable to compete in the Tokyo edition three years ago after testing positive for Covid-19.
