Defining the News

The Philippine Kendo team gained valuable experience and remained in high spirits as they participated for the first time in the World Kendo Championship in Milan, Italy.

The Philippine women’s team faced a tough challenge, losing to Italy but securing a victory over Portugal in the eliminations. However, they did not advance past the round-robin stage. The men’s squad scored a win against Finland but bowed to Great Britain. Following the 19th WKC, members of the Philippine Kendo team were invited to visit the Philippine Consulate in Milan and met with Consul General Elmer Gozun Cato. Most team members had already left Milan to either return to the Philippines or travel to other destinations.
