CLOSER TIES. President Marcos Jr. and His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah shake hands after the signing of several agreements during the Philippines-Brunei bilateral meeting yesterday at the Istana Nurul Iman royal palace. PCOThe Philippines and Brunei on Tuesday signed three memoranda of understanding and one letter of intent to enhance bilateral cooperation.
Bolkiah, on the other hand, expressed optimism about strengthening ties as the countries celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations. “I believe that we are commemorating this significant occasion through visits,” the Sultan told Mr. Marcos. The MOU on tourism, signed by the Department of Tourism and Brunei’s Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism , aims to boost tourism projects and promote Muslim-friendly destinations.
