The Philippines placed third in Group B and advanced in the Super Round in the Under-15 Women's Softball World Cup in Tokyo, Japan.
The Cebuana Lhuillier-backed team finished the opening round with a 2-3 record, tied with world No. 10 Czechia and No. 16 Brazil. The 21st ranked Philippines, however, prevailed in the tie-break and claimed third place as Czechia dropped to fourth and Brazil to fifth place.Also reaching the Super Round are top seed USA which swept Group B with a 5-0 record and world No. 3 Puerto Rico .Czechia, Brazil and winless Uganda were relegated to the Placement Round.

We only need to have faith,' said Amateur Softball Association of the Philippines president Jean Henri Lhuillier.In Group A, world No. 2 Japan , No. 5 Chinese-Taipei and No. 6 Mexico also made it to the Super Round while No. 8 Italy , No. 18 Peru and No. 23 New Zealand will play in the Placement Round.
