The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) have signed a memorandum of understanding to address the skills gap in various industries. TESDA will administer customized training modules and job matching, focusing on sectors like manufacturing, transportation, logistics, and information technology and business process management (ITBPM). The partnership aims to align skills training with industry demands, including the integration of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) into the local labor market.
THE Philippine Economic Zone Authority is partnering with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority to enhance the country's labor force .A memorandum of understanding was signed on Jan. 22 by PEZA Director General Tereso Panga and Tesda Director General-Secretary Jose Francisco Benitez.
The collaboration will help align skills training with industry demands, including the integration of overseas Filipino workers into the local labor market, Panga said in a statement on Friday. 'Our OFWs are highly sought-after worldwide. This partnership with Tesda ensures their skills align with the evolving needs of industries locally and abroad,' he pointed out.
