The Opposition is demanding answers from the Albanese Government after it was revealed the Health Minister went against the CMO's advice to impose mandatory COVID-19 testing on travellers from China.
Peter Dutton has accused the Albanese Government of creating"chaos and confusion" after it went against the Chief Medical Officer's advice to impose mandatory COVID-19 testing on travellers entering Australia from China.

Offer ends 31 October, 2023 > "The last thing our country needs is a panicked response from a government that doesn’t have a plan and, frankly, over the last week, has been making it up as they go along.
"We recognise that a lot of countries around the are putting in place similar steps as the one that we're putting in place," he said. He recommended the government consider exploring an aircraft wastewater testing program, implementing a program of voluntary sampling of arrivals, increasing coverage of community wastewater testing and enhancing the following up of those who tested positive for COVID.
"We are concerned to make sure that we can gather more information about what is happening on the ground with China. And this is one way in which we can do it."
