THE peso and stock market regained momentum during the final full trading week for 2025, with the currency strengthening by 19 centavos to P58.81 against the dollar and the benchmark Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) edging up 10.78 points, or 0.17 percent, to 6,406.68.

Philstocks Financial Inc. research manager Japhet Tantiangco, meanwhile, said, 'the local market rose as investors hunted for bargains following the 7-day decline.'The broader All Shares also rose by 4.08 points, or 0.11 percent, to 3,675.83.'Investors also digested the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas latest policy rate cut,' Tantiango added.'Gains were trimmed in the final minutes, however, as investors were still moving cautiously,' he continued.
