University of Perpetual Help System DALTA realized its four-peat dream after knocking out Emilio Aguinaldo College, 25-14, 25-22, 29-27, in Game 2 of their NCAA Season 99 men's volleyball finals showdown on Sunday at the Filoil EcoOil Centre.
The ALTAs also completed a season sweep after going undefeated in the elimination round to clinch an automatic championship berth.
After two dominant victories in Sets 1 and 2, the ALTAs needed an extended Set 3 to put away the hard-fighting Generals, who were eyeing to end their nine-year title drought. Marvin Romero then scored on the left wing off the hands of JC Enarciso to give the Generals a 23-22 cushion before newly-crowned back-to-back MVP Louie Ramirez tied things up at 23-all.
Jeff Marapoc top-scored with 18 points and 14 receptions en route to being named the Finals MVP after also pouring in 20 markers in Game 1. Ramirez chipped in 14 markers while Tabuga chimed in with 13 points and six digs.
