AS Pepito weakens and continues to hover over the West Philippine Sea some 145 km West of Sinait, Ilocos Sur, it is now threatening to batter Northern Luzon with strong winds and heavy rainfall, the state weather bureau said on Monday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration has downgraded the category of Pepito to Typhoon hours after it made landfall in Aurora Province.
