Penang govt orders corporation to ensure water reserves last 120 days

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow says the Penang Water Supply Corporation is likely to manage water reserves at Air Itam Dam to last until the next rainy season. – The Malaysian Insight file pic, May 14, 2023.

“This year, the effective capacity of the Air Itam Dam decreased by 41.4% in a period of 129 days, from January 1 to May 9 this year, and currently it has an effective capacity of 41.1%, which has the potential to last for another 120 days until the expected rainy season in September.
