Ketua Polis Daerah Tawau, ACP Jasmin Hussin berkata, mangsa berusia 33 tahun itu dikatakan memandu dari arah Kalabakan-Serudung menuju ke Ladang Brantian untuk menghantar muatannya.
“Apabila tiba di tempat kejadian, lori yang dipandu mangsa dipercayai hilang kawalan lalu memasuki laluan bertentangan dan tergelincir ke bahu jalan sebelah kanan.“Lori mangsa turut terbabas sejauh lebih kurang 66 meter dan mengakibatkan mangsa tercampak keluar melalui cermin hadapan yang pecah,” katanya.
