To help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) branch in Cavite has handed P2.5 million in financial assistance to the Southern Tagalog Regional Hospital (STRH) in Bacoor City.

On Tuesday, PCSO Cavite Branch Manager Paloma Malinao gave the calamity check assistance of P2.5 million to STRH acting chief Dr. Jocelyn C. Caballes in a turnover ceremony at the PCSO Cavite branch.

The PCSO branch said the financial aid also covers the cost of laboratory procedures and confinement of COVID-19 patients, except room charges and professional fees. PCSO General Manager Royina Marzan-Garma said the funding was part of the PCSO’s approved financial assistance of P447 million to 81 government hospitals across the country that aims to boost their financial capacity in caring for COVID-19 patients.

Garma said PCSO branch managers in different provinces are now coordinating with the beneficiary government hospitals in their areas for the required documents of the assistance and the schedule of turnover that will be held in the PCSO branch office.
