Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Royina Marzan-Garma warned the public that the First Family would never endorse online bingo games and to be wary of people making such claims.
Speaking at a press conference in Mandaluyong City on Wednesday, Garma said a friend of hers, whom she did not name, was victimized by a group claiming that their online Bingo operation had been given an authorization to operate by the PCSO.
“Someone I know was victimized by this group of online Bingo operators. They were even using the name of the First Family. I told my friend that the Dutertes would never engage in such,” Garma said. According to Garma, the PCSO authorization documents given to the victim were fraudulent. “The photocopies of the authorization from PCSO turned out to be fake.”
“Do not believe such people, even if they show you photos that they are with government officials. More often than not, they don’t even personally know the people they take photos with. They are just trying to deceive you,” she said. Garma said they are now cooperating with the police to go after those claiming to have been given PCSO permits to operate online Bingo games. The agency has not yet authorized any such game.
