The PCG reported that over 3,000 passengers, drivers, and cargo helpers in Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Northeastern Mindanao were stranded due to Aghon.

The Philippine Coast Guard on Saturday reported that over 3,000 passengers, drivers, and cargo helpers in the Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Northeastern Mindanao Regions were stranded due to Tropical Depression Aghon .In a statement, the PCG said its command center also reported that 666 rolling cargo, 50 vessels, and five motor-bancas were stranded in the said regions.Further, 171 vessels and 11 motor-bancas were taking shelter due to the tropical cyclone.

PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gavan directed all concerned PCG district commanders to ensure zero maritime casualties amid the tropical depression.Meanwhile, PCG Spokesperson Rear Admiral Armando Balilo said that Coast Guard deployable response groups and rescue assets in the Visayas and Mindanao were “all set” to assist local governments in evacuation and rescue operations.
