The Philippine Competition Commission has signed an agreement with the Governance Commission for GOCCs to ensure that state-owned enterprises and private businesses will compete on a level playing field.
PCC also noted that both agencies have agreed to conduct capacity-building activities and support the rollout of the National Competition Policy. The agreement, PCC noted, will ensure that there is “consistency” adhering to both the National Competition Policy as well as the principle of competitive neutrality. Moreover, the country’s competition watchdog said the MOA includes the formation of a Joint Task Force in the implementation of coordination and cooperation efforts of both parties.
