League commissioner Willie Marcial said the Philippine Basketball Association is pushing the opening of Season 48 from it's original schedule of October 15 to November 5.

Marcial said the pro league is working on finalizing the playing venues.'We're working on finalizing the playing venues because they are all booked ,' Marcial told the Filipinos in Tagalog.Season 48 though is still scheduled to open with the Commissioner's Cup where each team is allowed to bring in one 6-9 import each.

The pro league has been on a long break since the Governors Cup of last season that ended in the third week of April, where TNT upended Barangay Ginebra in six games.The break gave Gilas time to prepare and compete for the 2023 FIBA World Cup, which ended on Sunday with Germany winning the gold after beating Serbia, 83-77 in the final round.
