The Federation of Pasig Senior Citizens Association (FPSCA) has raised serious concerns about the inadequate healthcare provided to elderly residents by the Pasig City government.

The Federation of Pasig Senior Citizens Association ( FPSCA ) has criticized the Pasig City government for its insufficient healthcare programs and benefits for the elderly. In a statement released Tuesday, the group highlighted the urgent need for improved medical services, emphasizing that access to healthcare is a paramount concern for senior citizens in Pasig.

\FPSCA President Alexander Arreola stated that the city government's current offerings fall short of meeting the diverse healthcare needs of the elderly population. While City Hall provides some medical services, such as vaccines for animal bites, these are deemed inadequate by the FPSCA. Arreola further lamented the lack of accessible healthcare programs tailored specifically for senior citizens, such as regular mobile medical missions that offer essential consultations. \The association's Vice President, Reynaldo Malilay, echoed these concerns, pointing to the delayed distribution of maintenance medicines and the persistent shortages. Malilay expressed that the city government's lack of attention to senior citizens' healthcare needs is forcing them to rely on charitable medical missions, such as those organized by the St. Gerrard Charity Foundation, led by Sarah Discaya. Discaya herself acknowledged the overwhelming response to these missions, emphasizing the dire need for enhanced hospital services and adequate medical supplies within the city. The Manila Times attempted to obtain a statement from Mayor Vico Sotto regarding the FPSCA's claims but was unsuccessful. Several residents have observed a trend of cost-cutting measures by the city government, which has impacted basic needs and services, including school supplies and healthcare. Last year, Pasig City's ranking in the 2024 Rankings of Highly Urbanized Cities, as part of the Department of Trade and Industry's Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index, declined from 6th place in 2019 to 9th. Its government efficiency category ranking also dropped from 4th in 2019 to 10th last year
