The Pasig City local government will donate P5 million in assistance to the affected families of Typhoon Odette, Mayor Vico Sotto announced on Saturday, Dec. 25.
Dinagat Islands, Southern Leyte, Negros Oriental, Surigao del Norte and Bohol will receive P1 million each from the Pasig government.“In the spirit of Christmas, let’s find ways to help those in need,” the city mayor added.
On Dec. 16 and 17, Typhoon Odette hit the provinces in Visayas and Mindanao regions, affecting 3,918,689 or 1,000,742 families in 5,892 barangays. The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council recorded around P3.6 billion damages in agriculture and infrastructure.
