DAVAO CITY — A new party-list is seeking a congressional seat in the 2025 midterm elections to improve health care access for underserved Filipinos. The group aims to provide accessible and comprehensive medical services, particularly for marginalized communities.
Known as Heal PH, the party is led by Jonathan Flavier, son of the late senator Juan Flavier, retired Department of Health undersecretary Dr. Eric Tayag, and retired general Benito Antonio de Leon.Together, they aim to tackle the nation's health care challenges through innovative programs designed to address disparities in the system.During the MyTV Cebu Openline News Media forum on Nov.
Tayag, who retired in April after 35 years at the DOH, emphasized the party's commitment to delivering comprehensive and unlimited health care coverage, especially for vulnerable sectors.Known as the 'Dancing Doctor' for his creative use of dance to promote health awareness, Tayag previously served as Director IV of the DOH's Bureau of Local Health Systems Development and the National Epidemiology Center.
